Happy New Years! Hopefully everyone had a safe evening last night with the snow (finally!). Here's some stuff coming up this week. Next weekend is the big day (the Kickoff).

On January 3m we have concessions at North Branch from 5:30-9pm. We need some help! Let Becky know if you can help out. This is the last concession before build season begins, so it is vital we have some participation with it.

The Kickoff is next Saturday, January 7, at North Branch. We will be sending two mentors down to pick up the Kit of Parts at the University of Minnesota while the rest of the team watches the webcast of the Kickoff. Here is the schedule for the Kickoff at North Branch:

9am - Rolls and Juice in Rm B139
9:30am - Kickoff in the auditorium (Tomy will have it set up)
11am - Brainstorm ideas about the robot
12:30pm - Pizza and pop in B139
1:30 pm - Look at Kit of Parts
2pm - Homeward bound or you can stay to brainstorm if you want

Monday, January 9, from 6-9pm, we will start building in Chisago Lakes. The room we meet in is off the commons area near the main entrance. If you are new and don't know where this is, try to carpool with a veteran team member so they can help you out. Carpooling is always strongly recommended throughout the entire season! If you want food for the evening, bring your own snacks. Of course, you are not required to attend all building sessions. However, if you want to be able to help build the robot or share your opinions about it, you should attend as many build days as possible. You get what you put into it.

Also, if you have not yet registered online, you must do it before the Kickoff! If you are not registered by that date, you cannot participate! Make sure to have your parents sign off on their part as well!

One last thing; if there is a SPLASH webcast you missed or would like to view again, here is a link for the videos: http://www.mnfirstregional.org/splash

Enjoy the last bit of your break and get ready to build a great robot! Let's go to St. Louis!
