Great start team! We had a very productive first week. Day 1 of buiiding we were able to agree on the concept of the design. On Day 2 the concpet design for the shooter was created in CAD and a model was made. The whiteboard was full of physics calculations for the angle of the shooter as well. On Day 3, the base and drive train was decided. A prototype of the sweeper was made and tested. The base from the 2011 robot was disassembled as well.

Our goals for the upcoming week are as follows:
-Complete the base for the test and competition robots
-Design the ball delivery system from base to the shooter
-Finish and test the prototype for the shooter
-Layout the electrical components

Also, we need some more parental help. We need to build wooden props and three basketball hoops to use for testing. If anyone has some extra hoops we could borrow, that would be great. We also need  4x8 1/2" plywood to make these backboards and 2x4's.We will need to build a bridge, but we are unsure of what materials to use at this time. It would be preferrable if we made these props this week. If there are any parents that would like to help or anyone that would like to help find or donate materials, it would be greatly appreciated! Contact Ken Cummings if you are interested.

Seniors! We have scholarship info! If you are interested in learning about the scholarship opportunities FIRST offers, check out the brochure that is uploaded under the Documents tab under Resources. There also is a link under the Website Links tab that goes the scholarship section of the FIRST website.

There is a build day tomorrow, 4-9pm. We will be taking a team picture, so students, please wear your t-shirts.  Also, those of you who are interested in working on the website next year, come talk with Marjorie tomorrow. She'd like to start working with you guys on how the website works and other marketing tips, like business cards.

See everyone tomorrow!
